As part of the “Journées de l’AVUF “, a series of webinars offered by the Association des Villes Universitaires de France, the 22 March session was organised by Jean-Michel Longueval from Grand Lyon and Bastien Bernela from Grand Poitiers.
To feed a reflection on the concept of alliance of territories between university agglomerations of the same academy or region, we presented the results of our work on the geography of scientific collaborations between cities at several geographical scales.
Following this presentation, the discussion allowed us to discuss the weight and role of university metropolises in the construction of the national landscape of higher education and research, in the context of the recent LPR law and the elaboration of the CPER (State-Region Contracts) 2021-2027.
